My Village My Nation

My Village My Nation is the most ambitious project Tellus Art has undertaken till date.
Through the program we not only educate the poor students but also the locals and we also encourage them to participate in all social welfare efforts carried out by Tellus Art. To further boost their participation Tellus Art organises small village fair(mela) and festivals. Public enthusiasm and their willingness to learn and adopt a new idea is very encouraging. Tellus Art believes three things to make a substantial change in the life of a particular society.
Communicate – Contribute – Carry out
Villages are soul of every society in the world and preserve the incredible heritage of art and tradition of the country. They are part of but often get neglected as far as main stream of art is concern. Tellus Art is trying to bridge the gap by inviting artists of international reputation to the doorsteps of the village. Thus villagers get a chance to mingle and exchange the beauty of their culture with artists of far of lands. This mutual exchange of ideas and cultures are the first laying stones of change. Villagers gain more from this give and take of ideas and artists get the taste of typical rural life while creating and enjoying their exploration. More importantly Tellus Art encourages artists to contribute an ever lasting impression on the cultural and social life of the villagers. Tellus Art is committed to touch the lives of these villagers through art as we believe that art is the most powerful medium to convey our message across. The most pleasing and important part of the project is to provide needy students and women of the village to make their lives better by providing them education and means to earn their living. Tellus Art believes art and artists have the energy to uplift the lives of others while painting, dancing and enjoying every bit of the process.
Art and culture center
The Art and culture center being developed at Tellus Art Academy is located in a small village called Kaliyanwala in Uttarakhand State of northern India. is a place for many art endeavours which would give children, women and artists an opportunity to unleash their creative energies in an open natural space. The complex will house a primary school, women’s fabric sewing center, art residency, spaces for painting, printmaking and sculpting, an amphitheatre, an art gallery, and a cafeteria serving pure local village food.
The open natural space for children, women and artists will offer:
- Workshops with students of Tellus Art Academy
- Evening presentation by artists
- Film screenings on selected evenings
- Folk music & dance by locals

Tellus Art Academy
Tellus Art Academy is providing intensive education to almost 157 underprivileged students. We are proud and humbled to do the small bit that we can afford to bring a small change in their lives.
Women’s Fabric
Sewing Center

Tellus Art believes in strengthening the women, because women are an integral part of our society. Fortification of women in the long run, would be advantageous for the local communities and would serve as a mile stone for others. Therefore, Tellus Art has started a sewing centre for the poor women and widows to make them self-sustainable.
Few international artists are showing their keen interest in this project and are very happy with working these women. The organisation also offers extended benefits to the families of these women by providing free education to their kids and also assists them in their future needs like marriages of their daughters or by sponsoring higher education to the deserving students.
Tellus Art is looking for the public and private participation for its dream come true. Hope, this project will expand gradually from a very small to its largest scale. Therefore, there is an appeal from all the individuals, small business houses, NGOs and corporate to provide help in best of their capacity.
