Pernille T. Lund
About The Artist
Pernille is a Danish artist who expresses herself not only through multi mediums but also in many dimensions. Her work with photography, painting, installations and conceptual art rouse in her audience a new way of engaging with their surroundings as well as re rethinking responses that have become naturalised.
In her work quotidian things come together in new and strange formations compelling a new way of looking and perceiving. Far from being disturbing they remind us of the good that is slipping out of our hands every moment that we live an automated existence.
'Imagination' becomes the big casualty in these hurried times. Cultures and ways of living permeate through borders faster than ever before creating a kind of global similitude. Intrigued by the alternate life of ( invisible, unseen ) objects like ladders, a chair, and 'real' artificial flowers that she particularly loves to use in her anonymous installations as she urges us to reconfigure our realities. Through strikingly unusual installation PTL gives us a fresh vocabulary and her artwork becomes a catalyst for questioning our beliefs. The work of PTL presents itself with a high degree of clarity and minimalism leaving you space to engage and meet with the work on your own.
Lately the artist's interest in semantics lead her to experiment with and question the very nature and effect of 'Titles' in our lives. How we engage with names and it's associated perception.
